Welcome to Jupiter Student Government!
Student Government on the Jupiter Campus includes an executive and legislative branch and a member of the University-wide judicial branch.
The executive branch is comprised of the Office of the Governor for the Jupiter Campus which includes the cabinet positions of Student Treasurer, Program Board Director, COSO Director, SAVI Director and a Marketing Director. In addition, the Executive branch includes the Northern Campuses Graduate Council. It is the aim of each of these program areas to serve all of the students on the Jupiter campus.
The Burrow, located in the heart of the SL building, is the center of campus activity on a day to day basis. Student Government offices are housed in the Burrow as well. Whether it is reading a good book, going over a study guide one final time, or simply getting in a game of ping pong with a friend before class, the Burrow provides space for the students to feel comfortable and engaged in a relaxed campus environment. Not only are a number of activities and services provided, Outtakes make a healthy snack on the way to class much more convenient.
Both academic and personal growth are fundamental to the higher education experience. Student Government on the MacArthur (Jupiter) Campus identifies these fundamental experiences as a key component of campus life. Jupiter Student Government has really sprung to life within the past year. We here in Jupiter Student Government have made student involvement and campus life a central focus in regards to programming and events offered. Students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities and events designed to create and foster community spirit on the Jupiter Campus. Events like social gatherings, intramural sports, performing arts, and extracurricular lectures on current events, are just a few of the ways programming has taken on the challenge of providing a active enjoyable campus environment.
Access to several clubs on campus provides a wide range of opportunities for each student to experience several types of programming while also being given the chance to expand their horizons and develop their leadership skills. The Jupiter campus boasts well over 40 different active clubs which make up a spectrum of affiliation from hobbies and sports like fencing and debate, to more ideological based clubs like the College Democrats or Hillel. Recreational facilities include a soccer field, swimming pool, tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts, and a 9-hole disc golf course.
