INTERCULTURAL, CULTURAL AND
RHETORICAL COMMUNICATION STUDIES
This concentration explores intersections between and among Intercultural Communication, concerned with communication between persons of differing cultural identities, Cultural Studies, concerned with cultural texts and practices, their producers, and/or their participants/readers, and their role in maintaining or challenging power relations in society, and Rhetorical Studies, concerned with mechanisms and processes of symbolic persuasion that may characterize such cultural texts. It prepares students for careers in academia, public relations, political/social activism, organizational/intercultural consulting, and related fields.
