Eric Freedman teaches across film studies, television studies, new media, and video production. His early scholarly work on public access cable television, excerpts of which are included in The Television Studies Reader, The Television Studies Book, and the journal Television and New Media, has culminated in a research agenda that tackles several interrelated subjects that are included in the broad terrain of new technology, media access, and autobiographical discourses. Recent work includes an excerpt of his forthcoming book published in Hop on Pop: The Politics and Pleasures of Popular Culture, contributions to the on-line journal Flow, and an essay on cyberdating in Community Media: International Perspectives. Freedman is currently writing on virtual reality and trauma therapy, and has a particular interest in survival horror games.
