Grade Point Average  (GPA) Computation

A student's grade point average is computed by dividing the sum of all "quality points" earned at FAU by the total number of FAU credits in ALL courses for which grades of A through F have been received. Courses in which grades of AU, CR, W, S, SU, I or P have been received will not be used in computing a student's grade point average.

For Example:

                Grade         ATTEMPTED HRS EARNED HRS  QUALITY HRS QUALITY PTS
ARTC-2400-001    A-  (3.67)     4.00      4.00       4.00        14.68   (4.00 X 3.67 = 14.68)
GRAC-3104-001    F   (0.00)     3.00      0.00       3.00         0.00   (3.00 X 0.00 =  0.00)
GRAC-3112-001    B   (3.00)     3.00      3.00       3.00         9.00   (3.00 X 3.00 =  9.00)

                                                                 Total Quality Points = 23.68

          ATTEMPTED HRS    EARNED HRS      QUALITY HRS    QUALITY POINTS      GPA
Current      10.00            7.00           10.00            23.68          2.368

Quality points are as follows:

A = 4.00

A- = 3.67

B+ = 3.33

B = 3.00

B- = 2.67

C+ = 2.33

C = 2.00

C- = 1.67

D+ = 1.33

D = 1.00

D- = 0.67

F = 0.00
