FAU Alert System Test Postponed
The FAU Alert System test that had been scheduled to take place at noon on Friday, Sept. 5, has been postponed because of the proximity to South Florida of Tropical Storm Hanna. While the storm does not pose an imminent threat to any FAU campus at this time, the FAU Alert System test has been postponed to avoid the possibility that recipients of the test messages might think they are actual emergency advisories. For regular updates on Tropical Storm Hanna, please go to www.fau.edu/advisory. A new date will be set for the FAU Alert System test.
Update Your Information
It remains essential, however, that all active faculty (including adjuncts), staff and students update their telephone contact information every semester. Please do so now by going to the MyFAU homepage, clicking successively on "FAU Self-Service (OWLS)," "Personal Information," "Update FAU Alert Telephone Numbers" and following the instructions. Students, please note that you must be currently enrolled to receive the reverse telephone message or e-mail message.

Familiarize Yourself with the
FAU Crisis Action Guide
The Crisis Action Guide is a tool that provides pertinent information for the University community to respond to an emergency or crisis using the most likely hazards/emergency events that could occur. It contains information regarding topics such as crime prevention and reporting, shelter in place and evacuation procedures, fire safety, substance abuse, dealing with psychological crises, injury and illness reporting and a slew of other relevant subjects. All FAU students, faculty and staff should be familiar with its contents.
