The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, Federal Law 20 U.S.C 1232g (FERPA), and Florida law, Section 228.093, Florida Statutes, provide a right of privacy to students regarding their educational needs. Under these laws, an educational institution and its employees may not permit the release of personally identifiable records or reports of a student without written consent of the student.

Directory Information is considered public information and can include:
- Name
- Address
- Phone
- Date and place of birth
- Dates of attendance
- Degrees, honors and awards received
- Major program
- Height and weight of athletes
This information may be released without the student's written permission. However, the student may opt to consider this information as confidential as well.
If your student does not want directory information released, he/she must complete the form available HERE.
Only certain information can be released to parents regarding their son/daughter's financial or academic records. The Privacy Act exists to protect your son/daughter's right to confidentiality and limits our release of information to you. However, parents can obtain financial aid and billing information with the consent of their son/daughter by completing and submitting a parent release form available HERE.
