Sponsored Programs supports the mission of Florida Atlantic
University and the Division of Research as the central business
office for the submission of research and education proposals
and awards received.
The primary responsibilities of Sponsored Programs
include:
- Conducting funding searches and the active
identification/matching of funding opportunities to Principal
Investigator (PI) research interests
- Serving as liaison and service provider to internal and
external stakeholders including principal investigators,
business officials, and colleagues
- Supporting compliance to FAU and sponsor policies
- Reviewing, editing and approving research proposal
submissions
- Providing training and workshops for faculty and
staff
- Maintaining memberships and actively participating in
professional organizations to keep up to date on new and
emerging topics and policies
- Revising and negotiating award terms and conditions
- Facilitating, reviewing and approving post-award actions
and coordinating with sponsors. Examples include no-cost
extensions of awards, budget changes, modifications to the
scope of work, changes to key personnel including effort, and
subcontracting
- Developing and reviewing Confidential Disclosure
Agreements (CDAs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs),
Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) and other research
related agreements
- Acting as the office of record for file and database
maintenance
- Providing reports as requested to meet staff, management
and sponsor needs
- Coordinating electronic research administration (ERA)
activities
- Reviewing and approving personnel actions for both
faculty and staff
- Supporting and closely coordinating with Division of
Research colleagues
