IMPORTANT NOTICE

Number 2006-07 September 8, 2006

FACULTY, GRANT ADMINISTRATORS, BUDGET COORDINATORS AND ALL OTHERS

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR NEWS ABOUT GRANTS AND FUNDING OPPORTUNITES, WORKSHOPS AND TRAINING, OR AWARDS?

Are you looking for a grant? Sign up for alerts from Sponsored Research, federal agencies, and search engines. It is quick and easy.

Do you need to keep up with news and changes from funding agencies?

Do you want to know of internal funding opportunities, workshops and training sessions?

To Take Action:

  • Division of Research’s ListServe (RSCH-L)
Sign up by going to http://www.fau.edu/research/osr, click on “Electronic Forms,” complete the e-mail request form, and “Submit.” E-mails will alert you of funding opportunities, new policies and guidelines, training sessions, grant preparation workshops, relevant campus events, and internal awards competitions.

To sign up for specified external funding opportunities, there are several avenues:

  • Community of Science
The Office of Sponsored Research subscribes to this service for the use by FAU faculty, staff and graduate students. You can receive funding information from federal and private agencies, associations, foundations, etc. See COS link on left of page.
  • Grants.gov
This is the federal government’s main portal and is used for seeking out funding opportunities from all federal agencies. Sign up for a weekly alert. To get the Weekly NIH Funding Opportunities and Notices – subscribe to the NIH Guide LISTSERV, by sending an e-mail to listserv@list.nih.gov with the following text in the message body (not the "Subject" line): subscribe NIHTOC-L your name (Example: subscribe NIHTOC-L Joe Smith). Your e-mail address will be automatically obtained from the e-mail message and add you to the LISTSERV.
  • Florida Funding
There are a number of ways of locating State of Florida-specific funding: Two are: 1. Biomedical Research Program - http://www.floridabiomed.com; and 2. My Florida http://www.myflorida.com/. Palm Beach County’s Resource Development Initiative is county-specific - http://www.rdiorg.com.
