Elisa Gaucher, MBA

Director of Research Integrity

Elisa Gaucher is the Director of Research Integrity in the Division of Research at Florida Atlantic University and has served in this capacity since 2004. Ms. Gaucher has held various positions within research administration at Florida Atlantic University since joining the unit as a student assistant in 1989. Her positions have included, grants specialist and coordinator in sponsored programs and Manager and Assistant Director of Research Compliance in the Division of Research.

In her current role as Director of Research Integrity, Ms. Gaucher oversees federal and state rules and regulations regarding compliance issues related to the conduct of research at the University, with an emphasis on research involving human subjects and animal care and use. Ms. Gaucher serves as a liaison between principal investigators, internal University units, collaborative institutions, facilities unit, sponsoring and regulatory agencies and the Division of Research. She plays a vital role in assisting researchers in meeting federal regulations and providing training related to the areas of research compliance. In addition, Ms. Gaucher assists in other areas related to research compliance such as research misconduct, responsible conduct of research and conflict of interest. She also serves as the Division of Research representative on the Radiation Safety Committee and also as a liaison to the facilities division regarding animal facility oversight and management issues. Ms. Gaucher, a native of Barbados, West Indies, received her M.B.A. from Florida Atlantic University and a B.SC.from Lynn University. Ms. Gaucher is a member of the national organizations "Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research", the "National Association of Biomedical Researchers" and the “National Council of University Research Administration.” Ms. Gaucher was a contributing author in a book chapter titled "Special Considerations for Planning and Conducting Research" published in "Grantsmanship — Developing a Program of Research." Ms. Gaucher received the highly prestigious 2012 President’s Leadership Award in recognition of her dedicated, highly effective service and outstanding performance over many years to Florida Atlantic University.
