FACULTY OPPORTUNITIES

The FAU Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) assists faculty, staff and students in seeking private research and program support through a variety of activities via contracts, grants and philanthropic support. The office reviews and assesses FAU programs for their potential for external private and independent sector support and will assist faculty and program staff in

• Identifying corporate and foundation grants and other non-governmental funding sources

• Grant writing and proposal preparation

• Making external contacts with industry and private foundations

• Interpreting FAU grant policies and placement of funds

• Forwarding projects with commercial potential to the Office of Technology Transfer

The Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations is also available for group meetings and presentations to faculty, staff and students.

The staff maintains external travel schedules visiting industry and foundations to both promote FAU research programs and to respond to external inquiries about FAU research capabilities. The office also encourages and hosts corporate and foundation visitors to campus, and participates in campus events for the corporate audience.

As part of the university's overall effort to foster industry and independent sector financial support of FAU research and programs, the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations works collaboratively with the:

• FAU Division of Sponsored Research

• FAU Research Corporation

• FAU Office of Technology Transfer (for copyrights, patents, licensing and technology transfer), and

• FAU Division of Advancement and the FAU Foundation (for philanthropic support)

• Florida Atlantic Research and Development Authority

• Enterprise Development Corporation of South Florida
