HIGH SCHOOL DUAL ENROLLMENT REGISTRATION INFORMATION & FORMS HOME EDUCATION STUDENTS ONLY - The dual enrollment program for home education students consists of the enrollment of an eligible home education secondary student in a post-secondary course creditable toward high school completion, an associate degree, a career or technical certificate, or a baccalaureate degree. To participate in the dual enrollment program, an eligible home education secondary student must:
(a) Provide proof of current enrollment in a home education program pursuant to s.1002.41. Submit the FAU Legal Compliance (Need current version of Adobe Acrobat) and the FAU Dual Enrollment Authorization forms each term of enrollment. (b) Be responsible for his or her own instructional materials and transportation unless provided for otherwise. - Each technical center, community college, and state university shall:
(a) Delineate courses and programs for dually enrolled home education students. Courses and programs may be added, revised, or deleted by the institution at any time. (b) Identify eligibility criteria for home education student participation, not to exceed those required of other dually enrolled students. - All home education students in Palm Beach County must be registered through the Palm Beach County Home Education Office -- (561) 434-8052
- All home education students in Broward County must be registered through the Broward County home education office -- (954) 768-8960
- All courses must satisfy high school graduation requirements (see pages 28-38 of Florida DOE Handbook)
- Since registration is on an space available basis, selection of alternate courses is strongly recommended
- Students are responsible for the purchase of textbooks
PREVIOUS STUDENTS: Eligible previous high school dual enrollment students will be able to register on-line via Self Service website . Check your student account for any "holds" against your registration. These holds must be cleared by:
December 19, 2008 so that you can register via internet (OASIS). - Completed forms must be received by the deadline date. MAIL TO: Demarus Johnson, Florida Atlantic University Office of the Registrar, 777 Glades Rd., Boca Raton, Fl 33431 or FAX TO: 561-297-2081
- Upon receipt of the completed forms, authorization will be given for the primary course(s).

December 19, 2008 If you find that courses are closed, try to register for another section of the same course or your alternate course. After registering, check "Self Service" to make sure you are registered. Print out your schedule. NOTE: - You should have a current FAU parking decal: (http://www.fau.edu/parking)
- You will be charged a student fee ($60/Fall and Spring; $25/ Summer) due by:
January 9, 2009 This is a recurring charge every term. - Students should be checking the course listings periodically to make sure their class choices are still open before registration.
Students cannot register for : - directed independent study courses
- study abroad courses
- graduate level courses
- courses which the prerequisites have not been met
- Business courses--Only Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Intro to Business (By instructor permit only)
- GEO 3314 (World of Wines)
- English courses--3000 and 4000 level
- The following 1000 and 2000 level courses are identified as Advanced Placement equivalent by the State Articulation Coordinating Committee and will receive weight 1.5 times the standard weight: (Math) MAC 2311, MAC 2312, MAC 2313, MAP 2302, (Physics) PHY 2048, PHY 2049, (English) ENL 2012, ENL 2022, (Economics) ECO 2013, ECO 2023, (Chemistry) CHM 2210, CHM 2211. The weight for 3000 and 4000 level courses will be 1.5 times the standard weight.
- All courses must be at least three (3) credit hours and taken for a grade, not PASS/FAIL. No "I" (Incomplete) or Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grades are accepted.
- Students must earn at least a "C" (2.0) in each FAU course to remain in the program.
- Students who have taken AP courses and will use them as prerequisites for FAU courses need to provide proof of those scores along with the legal compliance form.
- Students taking dual enrollment courses are subject to the rules and regulations of Florida Atlantic University as stated in the FAU University Catalog.
- Students will be exposed to a learning environment that promotes an open exchange of ideas. Course content is presented on an adult level and class discussions require a mature understanding of divergent viewpoints and the ability to think critically on controversial issues.
- To view Course Listings, click on the Self Service link then "Course Listings." Please check the availability of course(s) before arriving for in-person registration. Alternate course(s) should also be selected.
