OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR

High School Dual Enrollment
General Information

The Dual Enrollment Program enables qualified public, private and home-school students in the 10th, 11th and 12th grades to enroll in approved academic and vocational courses offered through Florida Atlantic University. The credits that students earn count toward both a high school diploma and a college degree or vocational certificate. Dual enrollment courses are free to students who attend a Florida public college or university; this includes registration, tuition and fees. Instructional materials (books) are provided to public school students free of charge through the School District of Palm Beach County; however, students enrolled in home education programs or nonpublic secondary schools must provide their own materials.

Dual enrollment students are responsible for a transportation access fee, each semester (includes parking decal) and a photo ID Owl Card fee (first semester only). Fees are due by the end of the first week of classes. The transportation access fee is a recurring charge and is charged to the student's FAU account every semester of enrollment.

Students are only allowed to register for two (2) classes for a maximum of eight (8) credit hours a semester.

To continue in the dual enrollment program, students must earn a minimum grade of "C" (2.0) in each course.
