APPLICATION FOR DEGREE: FEBRUARY 3, 2012
 Students planning to attend the Spring 2012 commencement ceremony must reply to the confirmation email by March 12, 2012. The confirmation email will be sent to all students who have submitted an application for degree by the deadline. It will be sent once the order of ceremonies has been confirmed and posted below February 17, 2012.
WHEN: The ceremonies will be held on Thursday, May 3rd at 9 AM, 1 PM, 5 PM, and on Friday, May 4th at 9 AM and 1 PM . Degree candidates should report one hour before the beginning of the ceremony.

WHERE: The Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Center located in the Student Union on the Boca Raton campus.
HOW: You must notify the Registrar's Office by March 12, 2012 , if you intend to participate in the ceremony. You do this by replying to the email that you received in your FAU email account. Please verify your diploma mailing address and your ticket address. Everyone should reply to the email whether you do or do not plan to attend the ceremony. The Commencement Ceremony will last approximately two hours. In order to maintain an orderly and dignified ceremony, one that you and your fellow classmates will remember, all graduates and their guests are expected to be present for the entire ceremony. As you make your decision concerning your attendance at Commencement, please keep this in mind.

GOWNS:

You may purchase a cap and gown through the University Bookstore on the Boca Raton campus or at the bookstores on the Davie and Jupiter campuses. Pre-ordering is not necessary. Commencement attire will be available at the following approximate prices four weeks before the ceremony:

Bachelor Cap, Gown and Tassel $65.98 + tax
Master Cap, Gown, Tassel & Hood $85.98 + tax
Specialist Stole $16.00 + tax
Doctoral Cap, Gown, Tassel & Hood $194.00 + tax (rental - keep Tam & Tassel)
Doctoral Cap, Gown, Tassel & Hood $798.00 + tax (purchase)

DIPLOMAS: Diplomas will be printed after Commencement once the University determines that all eligible candidates have met all the degree requirements. The diplomas will be mailed approximately four to five weeks after the ceremony.
CAREER DESTINATION SURVEY: Please complete the Career Destination Survey by clicking on this link ( http://iea.fau.edu/surveys/snap/cdcdestination20092013.htm ). This information is extremely valuable to the university. We ask that you complete this survey so that the class profile of 2012 is as complete as possible. All salary information you provide will remain confidential. If you are planning to continue your education, please be sure to complete the Graduate School Information. Congratulations as you complete your FAU degree. Please contact the Career Development Center for further assistance.
GUEST SEATING: Seating in the Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Center is limited and admission to the Commencement Ceremony is by TICKET ONLY (graduates do not require a ticket). The number of guest tickets for each graduate is determined by the number of Commencement Reservation emails the Registrar's office receives by March 12, 2012 . Those students who reply to the email confirming their attendance can expect to receive approximately four tickets for their guests. As you invite family members and friends, please keep that limitation in mind.

ANNOUNCEMENTS : Generic commencement announcements are available at the University Bookstores and may be purchased at anytime. University Bookstore hours are: Monday - Thursday - 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM and Friday - 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
