Hats Off to FAU Volleyball on a Great Season

Congratulations to FAU volleyball on having its best season since 2005! The team ended the regular season ranked second in Conference USA with an overall record of 21-6. The Owls were undefeated (15-0) at home this season.

The team made history when it snapped Rice’s 15-match winning streak to secure its 14th home victory, setting a school record. Four players earned All-Conference honors: Sigourney Kame, Ivone Martinez and Massiel Matos and made the First Team, while Abbi Reid made the Second Team. Ivone also was named Conference USA Setter of the Year after leading the nation in assists per set (12.60) for the second consecutive year. She is the first player in program history to be named Conference Setter of the Year and the first FAU volleyball player to earn an individual superlative since 2005.

Congratulations again to Head Coach Fernanda Nelson, the coaching staff and the team on a wonderful season. Go Owls!
