FAU Celebrates LGBT History Month

October is LGBT History Month, and this year marks our nation’s 25th annual celebration of the achievements of lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender icons. From artists to scientists, politicians to athletes, the LBGT community has made many extraordinary contributions to society. LGBT History Month is a wonderful opportunity to highlight exemplary role models from the community and commemorate their impact on our nation.

FAU has planned a number of LGBT History Month events on our Boca Raton, Jupiter and Broward campuses, including the Safe Zone Ally Training Program, the annual Drag Show, workshops, readings, and more. All events are free and open to the public. Click here for the full schedule of events.

FAU is committed to providing an inclusive environment for our diverse student body, and that includes people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions. Our LGBT+ Resource Center provides support and resources for LGBT+ students and members of the FAU community seeking to understand their experiences.
