September is Safety Month at FAU

Now in its seventh year, Safety Month showcases a series of events and activities designed to raise awareness about a wide variety of safety issues impacting members of the FAU community. The goal is to provide helpful information that individuals can use to work, learn and play more safely both on and off campus. Activities will include fire drills, nighttime safety walks and a test of the FAU Alert System.

This year, Safety Fairs will be held on three campuses:

  • Davie  – 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10,on Diversity Way
  • Boca Raton – 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, on the Breezeway
  • Harbor Branch – 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, in the Link Building

For a complete listing of this year’s activities, please visit the Safety Month web site at www.fau.edu/safetymonth. Check back often, as new events are added from time to time.

FAU Environmental Health & Safety is sponsoring the second annual Safety Video Contest, which is open to all FAU faculty, staff, students and organizations. Click here for details.

Safety Month 2013 is organized and brought to you by representatives of the divisions of Student Affairs, Facilities, Financial Affairs, Community Engagement and the Partner Campuses. Thanks to their efforts and those of others in the University community, FAU continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing a safe and healthful environment for all.

I hope to see you at some of this year’s Safety Month events.
