Monitoring Hurricane Dorian

FAU is monitoring Hurricane Dorian, which could disrupt the university’s service areas in the next few days. Classes will not continue beyond 12:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, through Monday, Sept. 2. A decision about classes and operations for Tuesday, Sept. 3, will be made as information becomes available. Students, faculty and staff should continue to monitor all communication channels for updates, including the University status page, the FAU homepage, the FAU hotline 1-888-8FAUOWL (832-8695), email, text, phone and local media outlets.

Preparation is key to remaining safe in a hurricane, so please don’t wait to prepare. Resident students on the Boca Raton and Jupiter campuses can access the University Housing Hurricane Guide. Information for faculty and staff, such as unit emergency planning, creating emergency kits, and FAU action guides on weather events, is available on the FAU Department of Emergency Management website. Additional information on hurricane preparedness is available on the National Hurricane Center website.
