FAU Celebrates College Colors Day

On College Colors Day, the nation celebrates the kick-off of intercollegiate athletics and the new academic year by promoting the traditions that embody the college experience and encouraging fans across America to wear their favorite college or university apparel throughout the day. Here in Owl Country, we bleed FAU Blue and Red, and there’s no better time to show them off than on College Colors Day – Friday, Aug. 30.

That day is going to be very special for Owls fans for more reasons than one. There will be plenty of field action as our women’s volleyball team hosts two home games, facing Southeastern Louisiana at 12:30 p.m. and Jacksonville at 7 p.m. And at 8 p.m. the 2013 football season will get under way as the Owls go up against Miami at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens.

To get College Colors Day off to a spirited start, everyone is invited to come to Traditions Plaza in front of the bookstore on the Boca campus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Get there early to enjoy free food, giveaways, live music and half-price deals on the Bookstore’s clearance items.

Snap a photo of yourself wearing FAU gear and post it on the University’s Facebook, Twitter or Instagram sites with #FAUCollegeColors to compete for a VIP tailgate parking space at the Owls’ first home game vs. Middle Tennessee, plus some great game day gear.

Go Owls!
