The 2018 hurricane season officially begins today. Now is the time to ensure you are prepared for a possible tropical weather event. Please take this opportunity to review the National Hurricane Center’s website for tips on preparing yourself, family and home for a storm and download the Owl Ready app, FAU’s premiere preparedness and safety app. This unique app features emergency guides, turns your phone into a mobile blue light, provides emergency contacts at your fingertips and multiple ways to report a safety/security concern directly to FAU, and a host of other tools. The safety of our students, faculty and staff is always a top priority. If a tropical storm or hurricane approaches our service area, the University will share important information through a variety of communication platforms, including email, telephone, text messaging, social media, and updates to the University status page (www.fau.edu/advisory), the FAU homepage (www.fau.edu) and the FAU hotline 1-888-8FAUOWL (832-8695).
