FAU High Celebrates 15th Graduating Class

This week, we celebrated the graduation of the 15th class from FAU High School. FAU High is a public, dual enrollment high school on our Boca Raton campus and has been ranked among the best schools in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.

We are very proud of all the Class of 2019 has accomplished during their years at FAU High. Nearly 40 members of this class were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for academic achievement and performance on the PSAT and SAT tests. Additionally, seven Owls were recognized by the National Hispanic Recognition Program for academic achievement and high scores on the PSAT.

Last week, five members of the class received bachelor’s degrees during the university’s commencement ceremonies … one week before receiving their high school diplomas! These remarkable young scholars received degrees in computer science, economics, neuroscience and behavior, and political science.

More than 75 percent of the Class of 2019 will continue their education at FAU and complete their bachelor’s degrees this summer or fall. Two members of this class already were admitted to medical school here at FAU, through the Med Direct Pipeline program. They will complete their master’s degrees and conduct graduate-level research at FAU, before beginning medical school at FAU’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine.

Through their success at FAU High School and the University, these graduates have shown high ability, great self-discipline and maturity beyond their years, and I look forward to hearing about their future successes.

Congratulations to the Class of 2019! Go Owls!
