Happy 50th Anniversary, Majestic Owls!

This week, we welcomed home some very special alumni, as the Class of 1968 was inducted into the Majestic Owls Society. The Society was established in 2015 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of each graduating class from FAU, beginning with our first alumni from the Class of 1965.

As students during the university’s earliest years, the Class of 1968 witnessed some exciting growth, including the opening of A.D. Henderson University School; the introduction of FAU’s dual enrollment program, which allowed high school students to enroll and complete a college degree in two or three years; and the expansion of on-campus housing. By the end of 1968, the university had six residence halls, including the 54-year-old Algonquin Hall, which will finally be torn down this summer to make way for larger accommodations.

We’re very proud of the accomplishments of our fourth class of Majestic Owls and very appreciative of its role in the university’s growth and success over the years. Happy 50th Anniversary, Class of ’68! Go Owls!
