It’s Time to Reinvent the Breezeway! Your Ideas are Welcome!

The Breezeway on the Boca campus is one of FAU’s original structures, dating all the way back to opening day in the fall of 1964. Over the decades, it’s seen a lot of traffic and a lot of history as students, faculty, staff and campus visitors have staged events there, sat on its benches enjoying coffee and conversation or simply strolled along it to get from point A to point B. Now it’s time for “Main Street FAU” to get a whole new 21st century look!

The project will be kicked off with a full day of idea-gathering on Tuesday, April 15, in the Great Hall of the Marleen and Harold Forkas Alumni Center. Time slots have been set aside for various groups, but you’re welcome to drop in at any time that’s convenient for you. Refreshments will be available and FAU items will be given away. The architects who are overseeing this project have already come up with some very exciting preliminary sketches that you’ll want to take a look at.

This is your chance to play a personal role in creating something really great at FAU, and I hope that you’ll want to be part of it. For the full schedule of brainstorming sessions that will take place on April 15, click here. Come on out and be an architect for a day!
