Happy 40th Anniversary, Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing!

Over the weekend, the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing celebrated its 40th anniversary. Since 1979, the College has grown from offering an RN-BSN degree to approximately 10 students, to four degree programs and more than 1,100 students at the Boca Raton, Davie and Harbor Branch campuses.

Special honorees included Dean Emeritus Anne Boykin, who led the College for three decades and infused the concept of caring into the curriculum from its earliest days; and current Dean Marlaine Smith, under whose leadership the college received national recognition for excellence. We also honored the College’s namesake – and my friend – Christine Lynn. Without the generosity of Christine and her late husband, Gene, FAU might not have a College of Nursing.

I’m so very proud of the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing and the wonderful impact its faculty, staff, students, and alumni have had on our local community and worldwide. I look forward to celebrating more successes in the future, as we continue to train the brightest and most compassionate nurses here at FAU.
