Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

FAU will celebrate the life and accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during Social Justice Week, taking place Jan. 21-26, 2019. Dr. King remains an inspiration to our nation and to the world for his work in advancing civil rights through peaceful protest. The university will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. No classes will take place and offices will be closed.

Social Justice Week kicks off on Monday with a special address by guest speaker Corey D.B. Walker, Ph.D., a scholar of African American social, political, and religious thought, followed by a day of volunteer service at several local nonprofit organizations. Other events taking place next week include exhibits, discussions, and symposia for students and faculty. Please click here for the full schedule of events.
