Majestic Owls Return to the Nest

Majestic Owls Return to the Nest

FAU will welcome home some very special Owls Friday when members of the original graduating class – the Class of 1965 – return to the Boca Raton campus to be honored. The FAU Alumni Association has created a new organization called the Majestic Owls Society to celebrate the 50th anniversary of each graduating class, beginning with the Class of ’65.

Since these pioneers enrolled at FAU a half-century ago, much has changed. The university’s student body has grown from 867 to more than 30,000, and campuses have opened in Davie, Dania Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Jupiter and Fort Pierce. The barren look of the abandoned airfield that became the Boca campus has been replaced by lush landscaping and modern facilities. Yet one important thing remains the same: the excellence of the faculty. Then and now, FAU students are served by a distinguished and dedicated faculty that ranks among the best in American higher education.

We’re grateful for the confidence our founding students placed in a brand new university and proud of all they’ve accomplished in their lives and careers. Welcome home, Majestic Owls!
