It’s Commencement Time Again!

It’s Commencement Time Again!

The end-of-semester celebration continued this week, as FAU conferred degrees to more than 3,200 students in six commencement ceremonies. Our spring graduates range in age from 17 to 68 and represent 50 countries. Ten impressive FAU High School students received their bachelor’s degrees a week before they will receive their high school diplomas.

Longtime friend of FAU, Marilyn Link, accepted the Board of Trustees Service Award on behalf of the Link Foundation at the College of Engineering and Computer Science ceremony. The Link Foundation was instrumental in helping FAU establish the nation’s first ocean engineering program.

During the College of Business ceremony, I had the great privilege of awarding an honorary doctorate to Bobby Campbell. Bobby founded BBC International, one of the leading children’s and athletic footwear design and sourcing companies in the world.

Congratulations to the Class of 2017, and Go Owls!
