Philanthropist Eleanor R. Baldwin, a former high school teacher, is a longtime supporter of Florida Atlantic University. Her generous gift allowed the University to build a distinctive presidential residence and reception center that bears her name. Ms. Baldwin's commitment to FAU is far reaching. A member of the FAU Foundation board, Ms. Baldwin was one of the first Founders of the FAU football program's Inner Circle; she is a volunteer in the College of Education and is an active member of the College of Education Advisory Board and FAU's University Club.

Ms. Baldwin and her parents, the late Violet and Charles Baldwin of Boca Raton, have made other generous gifts to FAU, including establishing the Eleanor R. Baldwin Genesis Teacher Scholarship Program in the College of Education. Ms. Baldwin, who taught history and social science, retired in 1999 after teaching in the public schools for 34 years. She was a member of the founding faculty of Deerfield Beach High School and she taught at Coral Springs Middle School, Pompano Beach High School, and Nova High School. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of Northwestern University, where she earned a master's degree in Education following her graduation from Smith College with a bachelor's degree in liberal arts.
