Survey Questions and Responses
The Strategic Planning Steering Committee drafted a set of questions that were sent to all academic and non-academic departments, colleges and vice presidential areas. These questions were designed to prompt forward-looking inquiry and reflection into the role of each unit in supporting the University's multi-faceted mission.
Some of these questions touched upon who we are, what we aim for, and how we can achieve greatness. Other questions touched on how we stay ahead of the competition and use the unique resources of our region, which are part and parcel of FAU's identity.
2011-12 Strategic Planning Survey Questions
1. What does FAU do well?
2. What should FAU do in the next five years to become a distinctive and distinguished institution?
3. What should your unit do in the next five years to become a distinctive and distinguished department?
4. What challenges does FAU face today?
5. What challenges does your unit face today?
Responses to these questions are being synthesized over the summer into overarching, University-wide goals. The SPSC will disseminate a report of its findings and introduce additional opportunities for you to provide input. This on-going discussion process is intended to help us formulate a plan for sustaining and expanding the University's world-class teaching, research and civic engagement programs, which will allow us to define our future and chart our course in toward excellence.
