Dr. J.D. Mireles James is an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Florida Atlantic University with research interests in dynamical systems theory and nonlinear analysis. His work focuses on emergence of complex patterns and computational methods for analyzing coherent structures in mathematical models. In 2014 he and Dr. Erik Lundberg founded the Department of Mathematical Sciences’ Analysis and Applications Seminar. Dr. Mireles James has organized many conference special sessions, is currently the Ph.D. supervisor of two graduate students at FAU, was a speaker at the 2016 American Mathematical Society winter short course, is the author of more than two dozen peer reviewed articles, and the recipient of several research grants.
