Faculty and Staff Permits

Placement of the permit
Hangtags must be displayed on the rearview mirror, or on the driver’s side of the dashboard if the hangtag cannot be hung or a rearview mirror is not present.

Second permit
For Faculty and Staff, the price of a second permit is one-half of the price of the first permit. You must come into the office to obtain a hangtag.

Replacement permit
Replacement permits can be obtained in the Parking and Transportation Services Office for a fee of $15.00.

Obtaining a permit
Please note that new employees and adjunct employees may not be able to access their accounts immediately. If you have problems accessing your account, please e-mail our office at faupark@fau.edu.

To register for a permit

1. Go to MyFAU account. (myfau.fau.edu)
2. Click on the “Staff Tab”.
3. Click on “Parking and Transportation Services”.
4. Click on “Register for Permit”.
5. Fill out the information correctly.
6. Print out the confirmation page and follow the instructions carefully.

Please put the confirmation page on the dashboard. The confirmation page is valid for up to three weeks to allow for you to receive the permit in the mail. If you have not received the permit within this time, please contact the office for further instructions.

IMPORTANT NEWS FOR THE DOWNTOWN CAMPUS
When registering for a permit online you will need to obtain a temporary permit from the security office at the Downtown campus. The city of Fort Lauderdale does not honor the confirmation page that is printed at the end of permit registration.

Pricing for permits
Fees for employees whose employment contracts begin after January 1st and before July 30th are one-half of the regular registration fee.
