Disabled Parking on Campus

A current, valid state-issued disabled placard must be displayed on any vehicle parked in a disabled parking space on the campus.  Vehicles displaying disabled parking placards, whether permanent or temporary, must also display valid FAU parking permits at all times while parked on the campus.

Disabled parking spaces are located throughout the FAU campus; however, in the unlikely event that the vehicle operator is unable to find an available disabled parking space he or she may park in any parking space in any lot, (except in assigned spaces, service vehicle spaces, or in card access or controlled access lots) or may utilize any parking meter space for up to four (4) hours without charge.

Parking with another person's state-issued disabled placard is prohibited by Florida law. The placard may be confiscated, a parking and/or criminal citation issued and the vehicle may be towed at the owner's expense. The person to whom the placard is assigned to must be transported in the vehicle when parking. You are not permitted to drop someone off across campus and then park the vehicle. This may result in a parking citation and/or the vehicle being towed at the owner's expense.
