Friday, October 2:

1 p.m. Check in begins

6 p.m. Wine and Cheese Reception

Parents can see FAU’s academic life in action and will get the chance to have questions answered. This is also an excellent opportunity for students’ younger siblings to experience college life. Campus tours will be available and campus offices will be open to answer questions. Meet University officials at the Wine and Cheese Reception.

Saturday, October 3:

10 a.m. Owl Parent Association Meeting

1:30 p.m. Tailgate begins at Lockhart Stadium

4:00 p.m. FAU Football vs. Wyoming

Get into the FAU spirit when the Fighting Owls football team takes over the University of Wyoming. Enjoy a spirited bus ride to Lockhart Stadium and attend a tailgate party in your honor. You will also be able to sit with your student at the game and cheer our team to victory.

Sunday, October 4:

11 a.m.-1 p.m. Brunch at the Baldwin House with President Brogan

The weekend culminates with a closing brunch at the Baldwin House. Meet University President, Dr. John Pritchett and enjoy seeing the University’s presidential residence and reception center.

•         Essay Information:
Students of Owl Parent Association Members: Nominate your family for the FAU Family of the Year!  All you have to do is write a double spaced, one page essay on why we should choose your family as the FAU Family of the Year.  Please submit all essays to owlparents@fau.edu no later than noon on Friday, September 25.  You can also drop it off to our office in the Student Union room 220.  The Family of the Year committee will decide who wins and announce the winner at the Wine and Cheese Reception as well as at the tailgate.  There will be a special prize for you and your family.

•         Kick for Books Information:
Owl Parent Association Member Parents:  Sign up at Parent and Family Weekend check in for your chance to kick a field goal for book money for your student.  The winner of the raffle will be announced at the tailgate at 3 p.m. near the food area.  If you make the field goal, you will win a $500 stipend for your student for books from our FAU bookstore, if you miss don’t worry, you still win $250 just for making an attempt. Plus you get to stand on the football field!
