Parents Welcome Lounge
This marks the beginning of college life for many students. Our goal is to make this day as easy, smooth, and as enjoyable as possible for everyone. The first step for your student is to have them check into their residence hall. You should keep a look out for the FAU Owl Parent Association, as we will be present at all the resident halls on campus to lend a helping hand and to assist in pointing you in the right direction. At FAU, ALL new students will check in on campus on Wednesday August 21. We recognize that this is a significant day for you and your student. You are welcome to stay as long as you like, but try to keep in mind that your student will want time on their own to explore, and get acquainted with their roommates, the dorm, and the rest of campus. We are looking forward to meeting with you and your family. Remember to join us in the OWL PARENT ASSOCIATION’s Parents’ Lounge on August 21 located on campus. This is a place for you to decompress, meet fellow parents experiencing the same changes, and visit with parents who have “been there, done that.” It’s a great time for getting some refreshments, cooling down, and networking with other parents/guardians. The Lounge will be located on the Boca Raton campus near “Housing”, and will be available for our parents & guardians from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Remember … you are not losing your student to college, you are gaining the gift of contributing to their success through the FAU Owl Parent Association!
