Chris Hall Lynch is currently the Director of New Student and Owl Family Programs at Florida Atlantic University. Ms. Lynch received her Bachelor’s degree in German from Indiana State University.  She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Master’s in Education in Student Affairs.  Currently, Ms. Lynch is a PhD student in the Educational Leadership program at Florida Atlantic University.

 

While in Kentucky, Ms. Lynch was the Coordinator of Student Activities at Lindsey Wilson College for three years before going to St. Catharine College where she was the Director of Housing, Residence Life and Student Activities.  After two years at St. Catharine, Ms. Lynch moved to South Florida where she worked as a Drug and Violence Prevention Specialist at Archways, a non-profit agency.  Ms. Lynch has been in her current position for nearly five years. Her memberships include the National Orientation Directors Association where she participated in the Orientation Professionals Institute (OPI) and the Association for Higher Education Parent Program Professionals.

 Bill Horstman

As the Associate Director of New Student and Owl Family Programs Dr. Bill Horstman focuses on Academic Initiatives and Outreach programs related to new undergraduate students. In this position Dr. Horstman assists new students and parents make a smooth transition to Florida Atlantic University.

With over thirty years of experience in higher education Dr. Horstman has worked in both Student Affairs and Academic Affairs. He received his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Oklahoma State University, his master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Oklahoma State University, and his doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Colorado State University.

Dr. Horstman is uniquely qualified for his position as his Ph.D. research was in the field freshman programs (such as the FAU SLS course). His research interests include: the Freshman Year Experience, retention, developmental and remedial education.

Maggie Kelly

Maggie Kelly began working at Florida Atlantic University in 2004 and currently serves as the Coordinator for New Student and Owl Family Programs.  A proud alumni, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from FAU in Arts and Humanities.  A native of the state of Florida, when Maggie is not coordinating New Student Orientation, you’ll find her outdoors running or kayaking.

Kayleigh serves as the Program Assistant for New Student and Owl Family Programs.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from FAU and is currently working on her Masters of Education in School Counseling.
