OFFICE OF THE OMBUDSMAN
The University is committed to providing the best possible environment for all of its students. We want to assure that all students of the University are served well in all situations.
In this regard, the University established the role of Ombudsman in 1990. The University Ombudsman works to solve problems, to allay frustration, and to advise those requesting help, either before or after existing processes are used. The Ombudsman functions independently and serves as a neutral problem-solver, has access to all University offices, records and personnel. The Ombudsman provides information on processes, refers to appropriate offices, investigates, recommends and mediates. With knowledge gained as a result of this effort, the Ombudsman may recommend policy or procedure changes.
*Please note that because of the confidential and informal nature of the Office of the University Ombudsman, it is not considered an "office of notice" to the University.
