Karen Campbell Miller currently serves as the Assistant Director for the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs. Karen joined the Florida Atlantic University Division of Student Affairs as a Case Manager May 2011.

A native South Floridian, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Management from Florida Atlantic. Karen has almost ten years’ experience in higher education. Her previous roles include Coordinator for Board Operations at FAU and Administrative Assistant/Scholarship Coordinator at Palm Beach State College.

Marlynn Lopez currently serves as acting assistant director for the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs. Marlynn joined the Florida Atlantic University Division of Student Affairs as the Multicultural Affairs Specialist in August 2014.

Her previous role was the Graduate Assistant for the Center for Leadership & Social Change at Florida State University where she obtained her Master’s degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs. Raised in South Florida, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a minor in Spanish Language & Culture, and a certificate in Leadership Studies from Florida International University.

Emily is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a B.A. in Psychology and is currently working on her Master’s degree at FAU in the Social Work program. She served as a volunteer for the LGBTQA Resource Center for over a year prior to accepting her position as the LGBTQA Specialist. Today, Emily spends most of her time as a mentor to the students while planning exciting programs and events for the entire university to enjoy. She also coordinates and facilitates the Safe Zone Ally Training for all FAU campuses.

When she isn’t working and going to school, Emily enjoys spending time with her family and friends and listening to music. She is passionate about many subjects, but spends much of her time as an activist and advocate for the LGBTQ community as well as natural attachment parenting and breastfeeding.
