Videoconference Classrooms | Davie Campus

Instructional Computer Lab LA-139 | Davie CampusFAU has room standards based on the type of equipment assigned to the classroom. These standards are used by the Registrar’s Office to effectively assign space based on the pedagogical needs of each instructor.

The term videoconference is used to define a telecommunication set of technologies allowing two (or more locations) to communicate by simultaneous two-way video and audio transmissions, thus enhancing the teaching and learning experience of the students located at different places.

FAU provides both videoconference classrooms and conference rooms in all FAU campuses. For regular classes, these facilities must be booked through the Registrar's Office prior to the scheduling of the academic term. These facilities can be also reserved for individual meetings or special requests. These requests need to be processed through the FAU Helpdesk. All requests should be submitted at least a week in advance, and are subject to room availability.  Please note that external videoconferencing with other institutions may incur charges as well as additional setup and testing time.

Videoconference (VC) classrooms are rooms that contain the following equipment:

  • Network Drops
  • Electrical Outlets
  • Wireless Network Access
  • Teaching Podium
  • Networked Computer
  • Mounted Projector
  • Laptop Accommodations
  • Blu-Ray Player
