"Safety Month" is an FAU-wide
program of activities and information on healthy
lifestyles, personal property security, CPR,
defensive driving, fire prevention, alcohol and
drug abuse, date rape, and hurricane preparedness
and recovery.
The program, which is held every September, offers
students the possibility to attend different events
and activities on all the campuses of the
university.
This year, OIT-BCS joined the Broward campuses'
activities with a presentation entitled "Electronic
and Social Networking Safety." The presentation,
prepared and delivered by Technical Services
Manager Ivan Aristizabal, took
place on Thursday, September 23 on the Davie
campus. It was broadcast via the university's
videoconference system to the other FAU
campuses.
Ivan discussed how users should protect themselves
when using online social networking sites. If you
missed the presentation, it is available on the Safety Month Web site. Photos
of the event are available at OIT-BCS Facebook Web site.
