Blackboard Learn 9OIT will be upgrading the University Blackboard system to a new version (version 9), which will be available for the Spring 2011 semester. In preparation for that upgrade, OIT will offer regular training in the new system beginning this Fall.

Blackboard 9 will feature new tools that will improve the student and faculty experience. These new features include:

  • New Look (drag and drop reordering, fewer clicks)
  • Edit Mode (no more Control Panel simply switch Edit Mode ON or OFF )
  • Blogs, Wikis, and Journals
  • Group Assignments
  • Mashups (easily incorporate content from YouTube, Flickr, and SlideShare)
