Broward Technology Services recently installed an online printing service that will allow members of the FAU community to print documents to the open computer labs of the Davie and Fort Lauderdale campuses through the Web.
The system allows users to print without the necessity of installing any drivers into the computer. Users only need to have access to the Internet to print; they can even use the university’s wireless network. Furthermore, users can use any device that can connect to the Web to print documents, such as their BlackBerry, iPhone, Notebook, or any other mobile handheld devices.
The documents that are sent to a specific printer from any equipment will be available in the open lab print queues for two hours after they are submitted. This provides users with the flexibility to send a document from their home or office, and simply stop by one of the open labs to pick it up once they get to campus.
