Apollo RamonAs part of OIT's general switch replacement plan, two new switches were upgraded during the Labor Day holiday weekend at the Liberal Arts building on the Davie campus.

These switches control the data connections and the telephone system of the classrooms and offices located on the first and second floors of the building.

These new switches allow for a potential ten times faster network speed for computers and systems located on those floors as well as a more stable environment that will eliminate network disconnections or other similar failures. The speed increase and improved reliability will be especially useful for the videoconference facilities of the campus.

Funding for this project was made possible by Dr. Joyanne Stephens, Regional Campuses Vice President and Associate Provost.
