OIT recently purchased a site license for the Respondus LockDown Browser application. This customized browser increases the security of online testing in Blackboard by preventing students from printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during an assessment.

If an online exam or assessment requires that the Respondus LockDown Browser be used, the exam will not be accessible with a standard Web browser and the students are locked into the assessment until it is submitted for grading.

The LockDown Browser is ideal for use in a proctored lab situation. OIT's Broward Technology Services (BCS) has installed the application in all instructional computer labs and open computer labs on both the Davie and the Fort Lauderdale campuses.
