Forgot your MyFAU Password? Now you can reset it yourself!

MyFAU has a question and answer password challenge (QA challenge), similar to what many commercial sites use, for when you forget your password. Answer the question correctly, and you get into the system where you can then reset your password yourself.

How It Works

Setting up the QA challenge is simple: the first time you log into MyFAU on or after March 7, you will be prompted to answer the three challenge questions. Your answers to the questions are then stored in the system (note that the answers are case sensitive). Later if you forget your MyFAU password, instead of calling the OIT Help Desk you can click the “I forgot my password” link on the login page. Enter your username when prompted and you will be asked two of the 3 questions you had answered when you set up the QA challenge. If you answer the question correctly, you'll be prompted to reset your password and then log into MyFAU with the new password.

If you answer the question incorrectly, you'll be prompted with another two of the 3 questions. The process will continue until you answer a question correctly. If you can't answer any of the questions correctly call the OIT Help Desk (561-297-3999) to have your password reset.


Important to Note

  • Answers in the QA challenge are case sensitive . If you use capital letters in your answer when setting it up, you must use capitals when answering.

  • After you've gone through the QA challenge and reset your password, note that you are assigning yourself a new password.

  • After resetting your MYFAU password, if you use Outlook or another e-mail client to download e-mail to your computer you must reset that password to the same as in MYFAU. For example, Outlook users can reset their password by clicking on the send/receive to get a prompt to change the password. You should also change your password in other systems that use the FAUNetID (such as Blackboard and Active Directory/Network Access) to the same password as in MYFAU so that all accounts will reflect the same information.   • If you can't remember your challenge answers, you can still call the OIT Help Desk to have your password reset (call 561-297-3999). Then when you log into MyFAU, you can reset your answers to the security questions.

  • The QA challenge is available 24 hrs/day.
