Florida Atlantic University is partnering with local business owners and merchants to offer “Owl Perks,” a new promotional program geared toward building University pride, community spirit and support. All FAU students, staff, faculty, as well as members of the FAU Alumni Association (FAUAA) will receive discounts at various participating businesses by showing their OWL Card or FAUAA membership card at time of purchase.

“FAU has an annual economic impact of more than $6.3 billion and is engaged with the South Florida area in so many ways,” said Constance Scott, director of local relations at FAU. “With 3,200 employees, more than 30,000 students and more than 147,000 alumni worldwide, the ‘Owl Perks’ program is the perfect opportunity for local businesses to grow and support FAU.”

Some merchants that currently offer “Owl Perks” are:

  • Lord and Taylor, 200 Plaza Real, in Mizner Park –  receive 15 percent off a purchase on any day.
  • The Dubliner, 435 Plaza Real, in Mizner Park – receive 10 percent off entire check.
  • DaVinci’s of Boca, 600 Glades Road, at Town Center of Boca Raton –  receive 15 percent off of entire check.

Local merchants that would like to offer a discount within the “Owl Perks” program can sign up to participate at no cost to them at www.fau.edu/owlperks/.

FAU “Owl Perks” participating merchants will receive a program decal to display.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this program that allows us to connect with our neighbor FAU in a new way,” said Mindy Horvitz, general manager at Lord and Taylor. “We are excited to show what our store has to offer to the FAU community.”
