Florida Gov. Rick Scott visited A.D. Henderson University School and FAU High School today to witness firsthand the innovative education within the world of STEM that is being offered to its students.

“We are thrilled Gov. Scott visited A.D. Henderson and FAU High today,” said FAU President John Kelly. “It was a wonderful opportunity to share information about the unique education Henderson’s students enjoy, and the exciting opportunities our duel-enrollment program provides.”

The tour showcased the schools’ STEM education and unique dual-enrollment program. Allan Phipps, FAU High STEM coordinator, demonstrated various projects in the STEM lab including a robotic hand, drones, 3D printing, laser cutting, etching, printing, CAD design, electric vehicle development, hydrogen cell vehicles, as well as autonomous robotics and water robotics.

“We were excited to host Gov. Scott at our school," said Joel Herbst, assistant dean of Pre-K Schools and Educational Programs. "Our students had the opportunity tell the story of the impact ADHUS/FAU High School and Florida Atlantic University have had on their lives."

Prior to touring Henderson and FAU High, Gov. Scott visited Modernizing Medicine in the Research Park at Florida Atlantic University.
