Configuring FAU E-Mail on Your Mobile Devices

1. Open the Settings application on your device's home screen.
2. Open Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
3. Press Add Account....
4. Select Microsoft Exchange.
5. In the Email field, enter your full FAU email address
6. Leave the Domain field blank
7. Enter your full FAU email address as the Username (ie. FAUNet_ID@fau.edu).
8. Enter your Owl Apps Account Password set in MyFAU as the Password.
9. Tap Next at the bottom of your screen.
10. Choose Cancel if the Unable to Verify Certificate dialog appears.
11. When the new Server field appears, enter m.google.com.
12. Press Next at the top of your screen again.
13. Select the Google services (Mail, Calendar, and Contacts) you want to sync. In order to receive and respond to meeting requests on your device, both Mail and Calendar need to be turned on, and New Invitations needs to be enabled in your Google Calendar settings.
    
    To enable New Invitations, sign in to your Google Calendar using the web browser on your phone or computer. Go to Calendar Settings > Calendars > Click on the Notifications for the calendar you want to sync. Under Email check New Invitations (and any of the other Invitation settings you want enabled), and click Save.
14. Unless you want to delete all the existing Contacts and Calendars on your phone, select the Keep on my iPhone (or iPad or iPod touch) option when prompted. This will also allow you to keep syncing with your computer via iTunes.
    If you want to sync only the My Contacts group, you must choose to Delete Existing Contacts during the Google Sync install when prompted. If you choose to keep existing contacts, it will sync the contents of the All Contacts group instead. If there are no contacts on your phone, the contents of your All Contacts will be synched, and synchronization will begin automatically

For the best experience with Owl Mail on Android, we recommend the Gmail app. Most Android devices come with a preinstalled Gmail application, which offers features similar to the Gmail application on other devices but adds support for push email. If by any chance you do not have this application installed, you can download the Gmail App from m.google.com/mailusing your device browser.

1. Download the Gmail App (if you don't already have it)
2. Open Gmail
3. Press Menu
4. Select Accounts
5. Select Add Account. & press Next
6. Select Already have a Google Account? and press Sign In
7. Enter your full FAU email address (ie. FAUNet_ID@fau.edu) as the Username
8. Enter your Owl Apps Account Password set in MyFAU as the Password.
9. Press Sign In
10. Select Sync Gmail from the Data & Synchronation screen.

You can also add an account through the Account & Sync Settings screen.

Using IMAP for Owl Mail
If you prefer to use your mobile device's native email client, you can integrate a Gmail address with your device using IMAP. More inforamtion about this can be find in the Google IMAP Help. Note: You'll need to use your full FAU email (aka FAUNet_ID@fau.edu) for username and new Owl App password set in MyFAU.

On your BlackBerry device, you'll be able to access Owl Apps with the native email client using IMAP or by downloading the the Gmail for Mobile application.

IMAP Configuration

1. On your BlackBerry device, go to www.blackberry.com/integrate in the browser
2. Select Launch Email Setup
3. Enter your email address you wish to add
4. Select Next (DO NOT ENTER YOUR PASSWORD BEFORE THIS STEP)
5. When the error message comes up select "provide additional settings"
6. Select POP/IMAP and click next
7. Check to make sure your email address is correct and provide your Owl Apps Account Password
8. The email server is imap.gmail.com
9. The username will be your full FAU email address.
10. Select Next
11. Select Finish

Gmail for Mobile application
Using the browser on your BlackBerry device, go to http://m.google.com/mail and install the Gmail for Mobile application. Once installed click on the GMAIL icon and sign in using your full FAU email address (FAUNet_ID@fau.edu) and Owl Apps account password set in MyFAU.

On your Windows Mobile device, you'll be able to access Owl Apps with the native email client using IMAP or through Google Sync for a more complete intergration

IMAP Configuration
If you would like to setup access using IMAP refer to Google'sWindows Mobile IMAP Instructions.
Note: User name is your full FAU email address and password is the Owl Apps password set in MyFAU.

Google Sync
Google Sync offers two-way synchronization between Owl Apps and the Mail, Calendar and Contacts apps on Windows Mobile devices. For more information on installing Google Sync refer to Google's Windows Mobile Setup Instructions.
Note: User name is your full FAU email address and password is the Owl Apps password set in MyFAU.

Owl Mail for mobile browsers
Just like you would on a computer, simply go to http://mymail.fau.edu in your mobile device's web browser to access Owl Mail powered by Google. Simply enter your FAUNet ID (aka username without the @fau.edu) & Password(same one you use to log on to MyFAU). There's no setup required. The mobile browser interface offers familiar Gmail features like archiving, labels, and lots of storage on Google's servers. Best of all, the mobile interface is always in sync with the main Owl Mail server. Most mobile devices with Internet access and that meet the minimum requirements should be able to access Owl Mail in the browser.

IMAP access
If you prefer to use your mobile device's native email client, you can integrate your Owl Mail address with your device using IMAP. Make sure your device is supported for IMAP sync.
Note: User name is your full FAU email address and password is the Owl Apps password set in MyFAU.

1. Touch -> Settings.
2. Touch -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
3. Touch -> Add Account.
4. Touch -> Microsoft Exchange.
5. Type in your email address, Domain: FAU, FAUNetID, and password.
6. Touch -> Next.
7. It will then verify the account information and bring up the server field.
8. If the field is not automatically populated, type Exchange.ad.fau.edu.
9. Touch -> Next.
10. Make sure that each of the following has ON next to it: Mail, Calendars, Contacts, Reminders.
11. Touch -> Save.

1. Open the “Menu” and click “Settings”.
2. Select “Accounts & sync".
3. Select “Add account”.
4. Select the type “Exchange ActiveSync”.
5. Enter your full FAU email address (ie. FAUNet_ID@fau.edu) as the Username.
6. Click “Next”.
7. On the “Exchange ActiveSync settings” page.
1. Ensure Mail, Calendar, and Contacts are checked to sync all of these items.
2. Under “Update Schedule” select “Push mail”.
8. Click “Finish setup”.

1. Open the “Menu” and click “Settings”.
2. Select “Accounts”.
3. Select “Add account”.
4. Select “Corporate Sync”.
5. Enter the following.
1. Email address -> FAUNet_ID@fau.edu as the email.
2. Enter your FAUNetID password as the Password.
3. Enter “fau” for Domain.
4. Enter “FAUNETID” without @fau.edu as the Username.
6. Click “Next”.
7. On the “Success!” page click “Done”.

1. Open the “Menu” and click “Settings”.
2. Select “Accounts and sync”.
3. Select “Add account”.
4. Select “Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync”.
5. Enter your full FAU email address (ie. FAUNet_ID@fau.edu) as the Email address.
6. Enter your FAUNetID Password as the Password.
7. Click “Next.
8. Under “Activation” warning screen you will need to click “Yes”.
9. Under “Remote security administration” you will need to click “Yes”.
10. Click “Next” under “Account options” screen.
11. Under “Set up email” click “Done”.
12. Under “Active device administrator?” screen click “Activate”.

Step 1: From the Home screen, tap Settings. On the Settings screen, tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Step 2: Tap on Add Account. Then tap on Other.

Step 3: Tap on Add Mail Account.

Step 4: Enter your account information (name, email address, and password). Add a description in your own words.

Step 5: Tap on POP. Then enter the following information for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server.
             Incoming Mail Server:    pop.fau.edu
             Outgoing Mail Server:    smtpsec.fau.edu
             Your FAU Username & FAU Password for both. 

Step 6: The information will be verified.

You can confirm by sending or receiving email or you can check the Outgoing Mail Server information.
