FAU Calendar of Events for the Week of October 3, 2011
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (October 3, 2011) – Florida Atlantic University will host the following events:
FAU’s Second Avenue Studio to Host ‘SMART Ride Art Exhibit 2011’
This event will be take place from Wednesday, October 12 through Friday, October 14; Wednesday, October 19 through Friday, October 21; and Wednesday, October 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. at FAU’s Second Avenue Studio, Askew Tower first floor, 220 SE Second Ave., Fort Lauderdale. The “SMART Ride Art Exhibit 2011” will feature drawings, paintings, photographs and sculptures by 16 renowned regional artists, including several FAU faculty members representing multiple disciplines. All artwork will be available for auction at the exhibit’s opening reception on Tuesday, October 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. The silent auction will benefit SMART Ride, an event which brings together hundreds of individuals each November on a two-day charitable bike ride from Miami to Key West. Funds collected by riders support local agencies serving people living with HIV/AIDS in South Florida. The “SMART Ride Art Exhibit 2011” is presented in partnership with Broward House.
