FAU’s College of Business to Honor Jordan Zimmerman with 2013 Business Leader of the Year Award
BOCA RATON, Fla. (September 4, 2013) – Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business and presenting sponsor, BB&T, will host the 22nd annual Business Leader of the Year awards breakfast on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 at 8 a.m., at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, 501 East Camino Real, in Boca Raton. This year’s program celebrates the accomplishments of Jordan Zimmerman, founder and chairman of Zimmerman Advertising. Sponsors for the event will assist the College in supporting the Business Leader Scholars program.
“For more than two decades, FAU’s Business Leader of the Year award has celebrated the accomplishments of exceptional individuals and their ongoing achievements in our business community and society at large,” said Dan Gropper, Ph.D. dean of FAU’s College of Business. “I have been incredibly impressed with Jordan Zimmerman. He exemplifies the high standards of this award through his incredible energy and productivity, dynamic creative vision, innovativeness, and many contributions both to his clients, colleagues, and the broader community. When I talk about what can be accomplished through creativity, street smarts, and hard work in a free enterprise economy, Jordan Zimmerman is exactly the kind of success story that comes to mind.”
A relentless visionary and powerful thought leader, Zimmerman opened the doors to his eponymous advertising firm in 1984 with 400 square feet of office space inside a Fort Lauderdale strip mall. By 2011, Zimmerman transformed Zimmerman Advertising into a $3-billion-powerhouse ad agency with 1,100 associates in 22 offices across 10 states. Known for providing extraordinary client service in virtually every retail sector, the agency has garnered a reputation as an industry leader representing a host of highly respected national brands including; Nissan; Extended Stay America; Office Depot; AutoNation; Boston Market; Party City; CBS; White Castle; Ashley Furniture; ADT; Firehouse Subs.
Sponsorship for the event includes a corporate table and event admission at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. In addition, a portion of the sponsorship dollars raised from the Business Leader of the Year awards event will provide financial assistance to FAU students. The level of sponsorships for the event will determine the number of scholarships awarded. These one-time, expendable awards only are granted to students enrolled in the College of Business at FAU and who also meet the criteria of a minimum 3.25 G.P.A. and demonstrate service leadership qualities.
