Community Invited to Weekly ‘Green Market @ FAU’
Grand Opening Thursday, August 30
BOCA RATON, FL (August 16, 2012) – Florida Atlantic University’s Mission Green, in partnership with Inika Foods, will host a “Green Market @ FAU” each Thursday this fall semester with a grand opening scheduled for Thursday, August 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the FAU Stadium Plaza, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. The general public is welcome and entrance and parking are free.
The “Green Market @ FAU” kick-off theme, “A Day at the Beach,” will begin with a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. and special guests including FAU President Mary Jane Saunders. Students, faculty, staff and members of the community are invited to bring beach chairs and umbrellas to this event which will feature organic foods, musical entertainment and various outdoor activities around the Stadium.
Each week throughout the semester, the “Green Market @ FAU” will offer a variety of local vendors, including FAU alumni-owned businesses, selling items such as fresh produce; prepared foods such as hummus, beets, pickles and sauces; artisan crafts and jewelry; organic products such as soaps and lotions; and entertainment from students and other local artists.
