FAU to Host Undergraduate and Graduate Research Symposia

BOCA RATON, Fla. (April 4, 2013) – Florida Atlantic University will host an Undergraduate Research Symposium on Friday, April 5, and the Graduate and Professional Student Association Research Day on Friday, April 12, as part of the university-wide Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) to encourage student research, inquiry and creative scholarship. Student researchers will showcase research projects and network with faculty and peers in the university research community.

The Undergraduate Research Symposium will take place on Friday, April 5 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Live Oak Pavilion of FAU’s Student Union, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. The keynote speaker is Daniel Cane, co-founder of Blackboard and president of Modernizing Medicine. There also will be a faculty roundtable discussion, oral and poster presentations by undergraduate students involved in research, and prizes for outstanding oral and poster presentations. This event is co-sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Research and Inquiry, Undergraduate Studies, the Division of Student Affairs and the Council for Scholarship and Inquiry. The fourth annual Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) Research Day will take place on Friday, April 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in FAU’s Student Union, as well as the Live Oak Pavilion. Poster presentations by graduate students representing various colleges will be in the Student Union,  followed by a luncheon, and awards ceremony.

This event is co-sponsored by FAU’s GPSA, the Graduate College, and the Division of Research.
